HalcyGen Pharmaceuticals Limited (ASX: HGN) is pleased to announce that Mr Roger Corbett AO is seeking shareholder approval to be elected as a Non Executive Director of the Company at the Annual General Meeting on 17th November 2010.
Mr Corbett has unparalleled retail and corporate experience both in Australia and internationally; previously as CEO of Woolworths Limited, Roger has been directly responsible for the development and implementation of some of the country’s most successful new business acquisitions and strategic alliances, including the introduction of its Caltex/Woolworths branded petrol operations. He was instrumental in building Woolworths into the dynamic and successful enterprise it is today in Australia.
Mr Corbett is currently the Chairman of Fairfax Media Limited, one of Australia's largest diversified media companies. The group's operations include newspapers, magazines, radio and digital media operating in Australia and New Zealand.
In 2005, Mr Corbett was appointed as a director of the Reserve Bank of Australia and in 2006, as a director of US-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world’s largest retailer. In 2007, he was appointed as Deputy Chairman of PrimeAg Limited.
