BioMelbourne Network is the peak industry forum for the leaders of the Victorian biotechnology industry.

In three years it has attracted more than 185 member organisations, helped to generate over 300 partnering meetings, presented more than 150 influential networking events, and facilitated deals that have brought in excess of $170 million to the Victorian biotechnology sector.

The Network aims to create a vital and sustainable biotechnology industry in Victoria by encouraging cooperative ventures and partnerships, positioning Melbourne as the leading biotechnology centre in the Asia Pacific, and delivering member services with tangible benefits.

BioMelbourne Network plays a significant role in setting the direction for the biotechnology industry in Victoria. The Network , in conjunction with the Victorian Satate Government and AusBIotech is developing the Victorian Biotech Development Plan for 2007 - 2011. The Network's events and forums also provide premium opportunities for CEOs directors, senior managers and scientists from all sectors to meet,  increase business prospects and focus on industry issues.

Network members represent 40% of the market capitalisation of the ASX healthcare and biotech index, (all top tier advisory firms) and more than 35% of NH&MRC funding.
